Itinerary (broad description)

  • Day 1: Early depart from the hotel. Make sure you forget to eat your regular breakfast (not included). On the Pink Flamingo tour we will take you to try the orginal Mexican breakfast in a very special place. Once our bellies are smiling we are ready to visit the most iconic Mayan archaelogical site, Tulum; get intoxicated with the relaxed vibe of marine turtles in Akumal; discover the first eco-project geared by a group of independent women; and immerse in the depths of the underworld in a hidden and rare cenote. After this extensive day, we will sleep tucked in by the nocturnal sounds of the jungle in wodden eco-cabins.
  • Day 2: After a hearty breakfast, dress up with your apiculture suits and take off to harvest the most delicious honey you have ever tasted. From organic crops, the bees create a wodden and smokey flavoured honey that cannot miss in your shelves. After this, the mother earth’s womb is awaiting for you to rappel 20m down it. Discover the depths of the Yucatec world in this speleology activity. Meet face to face with spider and howling monkeys, kayak acros the Punta Laguna lake, zip line over its waters and participate in a cleasing mayan ceremony before  crossing the borderline of the underworld in the cenote of skulls. At dusk, the hot stones of the Temazcal will be ready for the traditional Mayan sweat lodge that will guide us to greater inner awareness. After this singular experience, our local hosts will have a delicious dinner ready for us, which will be the perfect prelude to a night when you’ll sleep like a baby.
  • Day 3: It’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful setting but don’t worry, there is an amazing place awaiting us at the other end of the peninsula. Today we will meet one of the richest and diverse eco-systems, the mangrove. Lying between two worlds, the salty ocean and the sweet rivers, Rio Lagartos’ Biosphere Reserve will delight us with the most varied and exciting experiences. You’ll witness the beauty of pink flamingoes, fierce looking crocodiles, relax, beer in hand, on a boat and cover your lightly toasted skin with softening mayan mud, as well as tasting the unique flavour of freshly catched and prepared fish and seafood. Before dusk it will be time to jump on our van and say your ‘hasta pronto’ to this magical experience.

Two meals a day. After many tours we have experienced that due to the density of nutrients in the food you’ll consume, two meals + snacks are more than enough during a single day which is the reason why we only include those two. However, in case you still have space for more, there will still be an option for you to eat a third meal. Meals in the communities range from 70 to 90 Mexican Pesos. *If you are vegetarian or have any allergies  please let us know .
